The news about a medical doctor who abandoned medicine to become an oil pipeline thief may have cast a pall on the prestige of what is supposed to be a noble profession. But a seeming loss of the prestige of medicine did not start today. You may have heard it before that many doctors regret reading medicine. For me, it was during my secondary school days. I had told a neighbour who was a doctor, who further endeared me to the profession, that I would want to read medicine, and I thought he would have been pleased. But I was taken aback when he said I should instead go into engineering or even banking like my dad. He said medicine was not worth the trouble. I felt his advice was suspicious. I also recall a visit to our family doctor then. When I told him my ambition, he said, “Why medicine? Since I got into medical school I have not rested, even till now.” In my young mind, I just concluded that some people would say anything to make sure others don’t become like them.

While a man was polishing his new car, his 6year old son picked up stone and scratched lines on the side of the car. In anger, the man took the child's hand and hit it many times; not realizing he was using a wrench. Ouch!

At the hospital, the child lost all his fingers due to multiple fractures. When the child saw his father… with painful eyes he said “dad am sorry about your car”, and asked, “Dad when will my fingers grow back?” The man was so hurt and speechless; he went back to his car and kicked it a lot of times. Devastated by his own actions… Sitting in front of that car he looked at the scratches; the child had written 'LOVE YOU DAD'. The next day he committed suicide. . .

Anger and Love have no limits; choose the latter to have a beautiful, lovely life... Things are to be used and people are to be loved. But the problem in today's world is that, People are used and things are loved... Be careful to keep this thought in mind: Things are to be used, but people are to be loved.

Minaj took the first step and said she’s always admired Carey and that “She's really shaped a generation of singers.” Carey, became flustered and stalled for time to think up a compliment for her nemesis. 

And then, in true Mariah fashion, praised her own song that she and Minaj did as a duet in 2010, early on in Nicki’s career. Mariah mustered up, “I did feel that she was going to go very far and still have that feeling.” Maybe she didn’t get the memo that Minaj is already a success. Still, it’s not an easy thing to find flattering words for someone you so strongly disagree with.

SNAKES ON THE LOSE! DIRECTOR DIES!!!

Hollywood is gonna have to find someone else to make their awesomely-on-purpose-bad movies because Director David R. Ellis has passed away. The man who brought the world Shark Night 3D, The Final Destination,Cellular, Final Destination 2 and of course, Snakes on a Plane — was found dead Monday morning in Johannesburg, South Africa. He was only 60-years-old. David's long time pal Samuel L. Jackson mourned his loss on Twitter, writing:

Authorities say Ellie was found in the bathroom of his hotel room, and foul play is not suspected. They still haven't determined a cause of death. Our thoughts are with his wife and three children. He's in a better place now. A place with no snakes.

SNSD eclips a YouTube record!

SNSD has eclipsed a YouTube record for a K-Pop act. As of January 7, SNSD’s I Got a Boy music video has garnered more than 20 million view mark on YouTube. The group first unveiled the video on January 1. The feat, accomplished in a mere five to six days, eclipsed the previous record set by Hyuna’s Ice Cream which took eleven days to pass the 20 million view mark. It also crossed the mark much faster than Psy’s Gangnam Style, which gathered 20 million views in 26 days and SNSD’s The Boys music video, which took 37 days. The song and video are continuing to receive strong interest not only in Korea but abroad and has been receiving acclaim from all kinds of music sites, including Billboard and MTV.
