Miss Universe 2012! Africa’s Favourites!
Miss Universe 2011 Leila Lopes hailed from Angola. The African contestants for Miss Universe 2012 are every bit as beautiful as Lopes. We look at the favourites from Africa ahead of the 2012 edition which will take place on 19 December in Las Vegas.
ANGOLA: Vahekeni is 23-years-old, she hails from Cunene and is studying Human Resources Development.
ETHIOPIA: The 22-year-old hails from Addis Ababa.
GABON: Marie-Noelle is 21-years-old, she hails from Ngounie and works as an air hostess. Raised by a blind mother - helping the visually-impaired is a cause close to her heart.
GHANA: Ofori, who hails from Accra, is 24-years-old. She is a nurse and models in her spare time.
IVORY COAST: Ouattara is 19-years-old and she hails from San Pedro.
MAURITIUS: The 26-year old hails from Curepipe. She has a law degree and harbours political ambitions.
NAMIBIA: The 24-year-old from Windhoek is currently studying at the University of Namibia for a degree in Public Management.
NIGERIA: Ayuk hails from Calabar. The 25-year-old is currently in Nigeria's National Youth Service Corp.
SENEGAL: Ly is a 21-year-old from Dakar, she is currently studying marketing.
SOUTH AFRICA: 22-year-old Bam hails from South Africa's capital Pretoria. She is studying for a BCOM in Marketing at the University of Pretoria.
TANZANIA: The 22-year-old from Dar Es Salaam hopes to become an ambassador for Tanzania.
TOGO: The 22-year-old hails from Bassar. She is a student of Economics and International Finance.
