HOW TO DELIVER AN EFFECTIVE PRESENTATION

-->
Steve Jobs was reputed to be one of the most compelling communicators of our time. The good news is that he was quick to admit that he was by no means a natural, and that this is an instance where practice most certainly makes perfect. Here are some pointers to add power to your presentations...

1. Make the most of your message

The actual content of your presentation needs to be interesting and entertaining; and no degree of passionate delivery can make up for poorly-researched information. Your audience want fresh insights that they have not heard before or could not have tracked down easily themselves, translated into a context they can understand. For example, numbers do not resonate with people unless they are explained. When Jobs launched the iPod in 2001 he made the statement that the 5G’s of memory on the device essentially meant “1000 songs in your pocket”. Part of planning your content is knowing your audience and their needs and expectations; which will enable you to speak directly to where they’re at. When you weave together your speech, make sure you are telling a story – an introduction that sets the scene and draws the listener in, a middle part that sustains attention and builds to a climax, and a resolution that ties up loose ends and concludes the message.

2. Eye-catching visual aids

These days, “death by PowerPoint”, with an unending volley of bullets, is unacceptable. While PowerPoint is an extremely valuable tool (an estimated 30 million slide shows are given daily), it needs to be used creatively for maximum effect. Jobs’ slides were highly visual and didn’t contain any bullet points, which research shows are among the least effective ways to deliver information. Remember that your slides are not your cue cards, you should know your content well enough not to be prompted, so think instead about how you can best imprint your point in your audience’s minds – often a single picture tells a thousand words. Using Flash can enhance your slides with stunning animation effects, and a programme like Colour Schemer can give you a broader palette to choose from than PowerPoint’s standard offering. If your presentation is image-heavy, use a tool like NXPowerlite which compresses files by as much as 75%, making it easier to store and share.

3.Stand and deliver

When it’s time to deliver your presentation, arrive early in the venue to check the technical details like plugs, the projector and lighting etc. It will also be a good opportunity to mingle with arriving attendees, which will help you to feel more relaxed when you begin. Depending on the size of the group you could even do an ice-breaker to direct the attention away from yourself a bit. Then it’s all about speaking clearly and loudly, and ensuring your body languages matches up with eye contact and open gestures. If you are full of passion and energy, it will influence the atmosphere in the room. Be sure to keep the audience engaged with questions, and if they look like they are nodding off suggest a quick break to stand and stretch the muscles. You can even offer them some chewy sweets to ensure sustained sustenance!

Jobs recommended a staggering 90 hours of prep to go into an hour-long presentation with 30 slides. 30 hours to collect ideas and formulate your speech, 30 hours to build the slides and the final 30 to rehearse. While this may be unrealistic for the average presenter, it certainly proves that “winging it” is impossible and that “show time” is preceded by a gruelling process and pure hard work. Good luck!

MAGGIE THE INDESTRUCTIBLE: BOURKE-WHITE’S BREATHTAKING LEGACY

Time Inc./Time & Life Pictures/Getty Images
Margaret Bourke-White, 27, stands on the scaffolding enclosing the under-construction Chrysler Building in New York, 1931.

At the very real risk of belaboring the obvious, let’s state at the outset that one photo gallery can not, and will not, even begin to encompass Margaret Bourke-White’s achievements as a LIFE photographer and as a journalist.

DID TONTO SAY THAT??? WHAT READERS SAID

Reacting to the report that Tonto Dike, had used derogatory words towards Genevieve in regards to her upcoming marriage and of Genevieve still not married at her age of which we post here, =10KNews= went out to the streets to sample people's  opinion over the publication and here are what the people said. RIHANNA, CHRIS BROWN KISS: 'DIAMONDS' SINGER POSTS PHOTO EMBRACING EX (PHOTO, VIDEO)

-->
They certainly look like more than just friends.
Rihanna and Chris Brown, who have refused to comment on rumors of a rekindled romance, appear to be very much back together in a recent photo posted by the "Diamonds" singer.
In the photo posted to her Instagram, Rihanna can be seen kissing Brown's head with her arms wrapped around his neck. "I don't wanna leave!!! Killed it tonight baby!!!" reads the caption, likely referring to Brown's Thursday performance in Frankfurt, Germany, as part of his "Carpe Diem" world tour.
This is not the first intimate photo Rihanna has posted of Brown. On Saturday, she shared a photo of Brown lying in her bed, shirtless.
Rihanna and Brown are likely back together, having recently celebrated Thanksgiving in Berlin and bought matching Rolexes. But the exes have been coy about Round 2 of their relationship, which first ended in 2009 after the "Don't Wake Me Up" singer assaulted the 24-year-old beauty.

WATCH THE VIDEO.

In a recent interview with Power 106 radio host Big Boy, Brown said that they are "working on their friendship," which has blossomed since the singer broke it off with model Karrueche Tran.
"As far as our personal life, I think people just got to give it a chance -- or not even give it a chance, but shut the hell up," Brown told Power 106 of his relationship with Rihanna. "It's me. At the end of the day, whatever opinion they have ain't going to change nothing I'm doing."
Rihanna does not appear to mind that Brown sullied his already-damaged reputation with a vulgar Twitter attack aimed at comedian Jenny Johnson. In a recent interview, the R&B star called Brown "pretty dope."

“I’m Coming Again” – Tonto Dikeh Set To Release New Song Featuring Terry G

-->
Tonto Dikeh has definitely emerged from all the scathing criticisms that greeted her first two singles, a much stronger person.

Not only has the actress-cum-singer gone on to grant interviews on her ‘music career’, she has been scheduled to perform at the Rhythm Unplugged concert on December 23. And just yesterday, we reported that Nigezie, will be sponsoring her new video.

Buoyed by all these, Miss Dikeh, is set to release new material. She revealed this on Twitter, where she confirmed she was working with eccentric artiste and music producer, Terry G, in the studio.

The Akpako Master himself confirmed it, tweeting “Recording a hit sound at the moment with @tontolet… Y’all gonna luv this one.. GBES!!” Tonto added: “Greater surprizes** Hehehehehehe, Ya’ll better burn all ya speakerz oo**I’m coming again n stronger, No dullin*I rule it*”

OBAMA AND MITT ROMNEY DINNED TOGETHER AT WHITEHOUSE...

-->

President Barack Obama and former Gov. Mitt Romney met for lunch at the White House on Thursday, their first face-to-face meeting since the bitter election campaign in which each man basically warned voters that the other risked destroying the economy. A syrupy White House statement released after the meal said they had discussed America's global leadership role and agreed on their desire to stay in touch. Maybe.

Chart Watch Extra: “Thriller” Turns 30

-->
It's hard to believe, but Friday marks the 30th anniversary of the release of Michael Jackson's Thriller, an album that appealed to all audiences—all ages, races and nationalities—like few other recordings in music history.

Jackson and producer Quincy Jones recorded and mixed the album between April and November 1982. Jones was 49 at the time. Jackson turned 24 during the sessions. The production budget was a reported $750K, which means Epic Records got a pretty good rate of return on its investment.

Thriller doesn't remotely sound 30 years old. Its best cuts, including "Billie Jean" and "Wanna Be Startin' Somethin'," still sound fresh and vital.

“IF I KEEP WAITING FOR AN IGBO MAN, I WILL JUST END UP LIKE GENEVIEVE NNAJI WHO IS ETERNALLY SINGLE”...Did Tonto Dike really say that?

This piece was culled from an interview Tonto Dike had recently with a reporter in one of our national newspapers. Excerpt from the interview:

Interviewer: We just learnt that you will be getting married soon to your new boyfriend who happens to come from Benin, Edo state. Why are so many Nollywood female starts getting snapped up by Benin or men from Edo state?

Tonto Dike: First of all, it is nobody’s business where my fiance is from. That out of the way, yes Benin men are great and very understanding. They are not sitting and judging you unlike an Igbo man that will want to be poke-nosing in everything you do. You make your money and the Edo man is not interested in your personal affairs . “If I keep waiting for an Igbo man, I will just end up like Genevieve Nnaji who is eternally single.”

Tonto dike Debunked the statement above…

-->
In a reaction to the alleged interview, which has spread like harmmatan fire, Tonto reacted this way, “I have never and will never say anything against Genevieve. I will not even interfere in her personal issues. I did not grant such interview.”

Her publicist also denied any such statement from Tonto dike. The publicist said, “after her interview with you (NFC) last year December, Tonto dike has only granted an interview with a soft-sell magazine, which was done about three months ago. So, I don’t know where that purported interview came from or when such was granted.”

As wild as she might present herself to be, we are taking sides with her that she did not say that.

Chukwuemeka Odumegwu-Ojukwu’s Will Presented at Last: And the Lion’s Share Goes to…

-->
The last might not have been heard of the controversy trailing the death of Chief Chukwuemeka Odumegwu-Ojukwu. Members of the Ojukwu family will definitely be bracing for another round of battle as the will of the late Ikemba Nnewi, was on Friday presented to the family with his widow, Bianca, getting the lion’s share.

The presentation of the will by the Chief Registrar of the Enugu High Court, Mr Dennis Ekoh, was witnessed by Bianca, Mr Val Nwosu, Ojukwu’s first cousin, and Mr Mike Ejemba. In the will, the late Ojukwu identified one Tenny Haman as one of his children.

Ojukwu’s children, as listed are: Tenny Haman, Chukwuemeka Jnr, Mmegha, Okigbo, Ebele, Chineme, Afam and Nwachukwu.

Meanwhile, the Ikemba gave the Casabianca Lodge at No. 7, Forest Crescent, GRA, Enugu, two properties at Jabi and Kuje in the FCT as well as all his money and personal effects to his widow. He also said that Bianca should replace him as the trustee in the family company, Ojukwu Transport Ltd, while also giving her two plots of land in his village at Nnewi. He, however, added that if she re-married, the land should be taken away from her.

The first son, Emeka Jnr., got the family house at Nnewi, while the newly mentioned daughter, Tenny Haman, got the Jubilee Hotel located in Zaria, Kaduna State. The Biafran warlord also shared other landed property in the village among all his children. Ojukwu listed the trustees and executors of the will to include Bianca, Emeka Jnr and Mr James Chukwuneme.

However, reacting to the will, Bianca, who is Nigeria’s Ambassador to Spain, expressed satisfaction with its contents. According to her, “It was a fair will. This time round, he did not disappoint us,’’ she said. The ambassador, however, expressed shock at the disclosure of a new daughter in the family, whom she said had never been mentioned by her husband. None of the children was present at the presentation of the will.

Rihanna Poses Topless To Announce Next Single 'Pour It Up'

-->
Rihanna has announced the title of her next single by posing topless with a dollar bill over her mouth.

The track 'Pour It Up' will be the second single from her seventh studio album 'Unapologetic', which is currently number one in the US Billboard album charts.

 The controversial Grammy Award-winning singer posted the artwork for 'Pour It Up' on her Instagram account and shocked fans who thought her Chris Brown collaboration 'Nobody's Business' could be the next cut from her album.

LISTEN: Rihanna's next single...

Rihanna recently came under fire after journalists complained that they were not given enough access to her after being flown around on her 777 Tour.
-->
The Bajan star responded to criticism by telling Radio 1: "They all want you to host a party every time you get on the plane after a show but you really only have that time to sleep until you get to the next country.... Sometimes it was a two-hour ride to the next country and that was all the sleep you would get."

"I knew I had seven countries and seven shows and I had to save my voice," she told the station. "I didn't go crazy. I didn't party too hard."

The 777 tour took the singer and her guests to seven cities in seven days. Each night, Rihanna would perform an almost entirely consistent set at a somewhat intimate show.

7 PERSONS SENTENCED TO DEATH FOR ANTI-ISLAM MOVIE

-->
CAIRO, Nov 28 (Reuters) – A Cairo court on Wednesday sentenced to death seven Egyptian Christians tried in absentia for participating in an anti-Islam video that was released on the Internet in September and prompted violent protests in Muslim countries.

“The seven accused persons were convicted of insulting the Islamic religion through participating in producing and offering a movie that insults Islam and its prophet,” Judge Saif al-Nasr Soliman said.

The low-budget video, produced privately in California, denigrated the Prophet Mohammad and triggered anti-U.S. protests and attacks on Western embassies around the Muslim world.

The convicted persons included Egyptian-American Nakoula Bassely Nakoula, who is currently serving a one-year-jail term in Los Angeles after an American court convicted him of probation violations that stemmed from his role in the movie.

Associated Press/Adel Hana, File - FILE - In this Friday, Sept. 14, 2012 file photo, Palestinian Islamic Jihad supporters rally with banners depicting Morris Sadek during a protest in Khan Younis, southern Gaza Strip, as part of widespread anger across the Muslim world about a film ridiculing Islam's Prophet Muhammad. The banners in Arabic read, "Death to Israel," "death to America" and, "anyone but God's Prophet." An Egyptian court on Wednesday, Nov. 28, 2012 has convicted in absentia seven Egyptian Coptic Christians and a Florida-based American pastor and sentenced them to death on charges linked to an anti-Islam film that had sparked riots in parts of the Muslim world. (AP Photo/Adel Hana, File)

The 13-minute video portrays the Prophet Mohammad as a fool and a sexual deviant, although cast members have said they were misled into appearing in a film they believed was an adventure drama called “Desert Warrior.”Egypt’s Coptic Orthodox Church did not issue an official comment on the ruling.

“The Church denounced the movie, which it has nothing to do with. As for today’s case, it is a court ruling and the Church does not comment on court decisions,” said a Church source who asked not to be named.

Christians make up around 10 percent of Egypt’s 83 million people and many complain of discrimination in work and treatment.

MAN BATHED FIANCEE WITH ACID!!!

-->
The motive behind the acid bath of 22-year-old Chika Egbo by her estranged lover, David Sulaimon, remains elusive, but one thing is sure, the victim may not remain the same again. Chika is a student of the Enugu State College of Education.

Last Tuesday, when our correspondent visited her at the Burns Unit of the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital, Ikeja, Egbo has become a shadow of the beautiful girl she was. The substance Sulaimon allegedly poured on her had destroyed every visible skin from her chest upwards. She mumbled to her father, a Taraba State-based businessman, as she could neither see nor speak properly at the time.

WAS INTERNAL SECURITY ASSISTANT MINISTER ORWA OJODE ASSASINATED?

-->
-->
In October last year, the then Kenyan Internal security deputy minister, the late Orwa Ojode, made a statement referring to al-Shabab an Islamist extremist group in Somalia with hiding base in Kenya.

"This savage and barbaric group is a snake whose tail may be in Somalia but the head is in Eastleigh and it must be decapitated".

Less than a year later, a Police Helicopter conveying him to a church fundraising activity crashed killing all on board with difficulty is recognizing persons on board as all that remains are charred remains of the occupants and burnt parts of the helicopter.

After reviewing and re-analyzing all that has been happening in Somalia and the clash between Non-Somalis, Natives and Somalis in Kenya, please is this plane crash be therefore termed a coincidence or a successful assassination of someone who dare to speak out against this Islamic groups?

To read and understand more of this, kindly read this story link we copied and publish here from Aljazeera: http://goo.gl/yVGtw

After reading the story on the above link, then kindly watch the plane crash video here as linked to this page.

What this is all about, is that there is a secret uprising in Africa to see to it that we constantly don’t move forward and remain the impoverished third world country where we must constantly be under the grip of religion and extremism so that so long as there is religious and tribal quagmire, there will be no room for development and advancement in technology and science.

So who is our real enemy? Is it the west or we ourselves being manipulated by tribalism, and then religion as provided by both the West and the Arab? Your guess is as good as mine.

RISING XENOPHOBIA AGAINST SOMALIS IN KENYA...As reported in Ajazeera

-->
SO YOU CAN HAVE A FIRST HAND ON THE GENESIS, WE COPIED BOTH THE REPORT AND THE COMMENTS
Kenyans turned on Somalis and attacked their shops, blaming them for Sunday's blast [AFP]

Twenty-one victims from Sunday’s explosion of a minibus in Nairobi’s Somali-dominated Eastleigh suburb popularly known as “little Mogadishu” are still recuperating at the country’s main hospital, Kenyatta national hospital.

I went to visit them. They had head, arm and leg injuries. Some had burns. At least eight people died in the blasts on Sunday from that deadly explosion that ripped apart the minibus. Three people especially caught my eye.

Three-year-old Kennedy Mbuvi was crying in pain. He had a fractured leg. He was playing by the bus terminal when the minibus exploded. For two hours following the blast his desperate mother did not know where he was. She finally traced him to the hospital.

Five beds away from Kennedy is Ahmed Abdi, a Kenyan Somali who was also crying in pain. He had leg injuries. He was walking home when the explosion knocked him off his feet.
At the far end of the ward, a Somali. Immediately after the blast an angry mob tried to lynch him. He was rescued by police.

The three - a non-Somali child, a Kenyan Somali and an ethnic Somali – all victims.

The attacks –and they’ve been many since Kenya’s army went into Somalia to battle the armed group al-Shabab last October - have been indiscriminate, devastating in equal measure non-Somalis and Somalis.
Yet, you get a very deep sense of growing xenophobia against Somalis be they refugees or even Kenyan Somalis.

The attacks are carried out by a few elements. People know this, but out of frustration or maybe even just ignorance, they want to blame something - someone they can see, not some group that is just a word to them.

You don’t need much to see what is mutating. Some in Kenya are translating the war on al-Shabab as a war
on Somalis. They have little adequate background on who al-Shabab are. They do not have much sympathy anymore of the reasons why hundreds of thousands of Somalis fled from Somalia in the first place.

The country’s leadership sometimes does not help. When the grenade and improvised bomb attacks begun in October last year, the then internal security deputy minister, the late Orwa Ojode, referred to al-Shabab as a snake whose tail may be in Somalia but the head is in Eastleigh and it must be decapitated. The statement was seriously faulted as irresponsible and with the ability to raise serious reprisals.

It did raise tensions and following every attack, fingers have been pointed at al-Shabab and by extension the Somali community – whether or not anybody has claimed responsibility.

The clashes that have rocked Eastleigh in recently just go to show the deep mistrust between non-Somalis and ethnic or even Kenyan Somalis. Buildings owned by Somalis are pelted with stones and looted. We have heard reports of Somalis being beaten up. After the Sunday explosion the media reported on Somalis being forced out of public service vehicles.

The police themselves frequently carry out massive swoops – arresting anyone who looks like a Somali.
Don’t get me wrong –I’m not saying that the security arm should not do its job. It’s a known fact that Eastleigh is a conduit for small arms. Police have on many occasions recovered explosive materials, grenades and guns in the homes or shops of some.

It’s also a known fact that Eastleigh as well as other areas across the country where many Somalis live have been used to harbour sympathisers or even al-Shabab combatants.

But actions that seem to target a whole community do not help ethnic cohesion in any way.
There needs to be a delicate balance when trying to weed out the chaff from the wheat. It’s not easy – but with good intelligence it can be done.

The harder task perhaps is trying to tell an angry non-Somali whose child has died from a grenade explosion and who needs someone to blame that not all Somalis are al-Shabab fighters or sympathisers.

A month ago, after another grenade attack on a Sunday school killed a child, there was heavy fighting in Eastleigh. Police arrested many Somalis including four journalists who had gone to report on the blast.

I spoke to one of the journalists then. He told me that he fled from Mogadishu in 2009 and that the al-Shabab administration that controlled Mogadishu at the time tortured and detained him.

“We are suffering just like everyone else. We suffered the same fate in Somalia. This is where we thought we’d be safe and now we're not, is there no reprieve? I don’t blame Kenyans for suspecting us – but they must not stereotype,” he told me.

More bomb attacks in Kenya will most likely translate to more ethnic clashes, maybe even worse than we’ve witnessed before. The government needs to step up and stem out this growing xenophobic attitude before it’s too late.

  • First, I personally know the Kenyan people. They are beautiful people both inside and outside. I have lived, worked, and socialized with them. In many years ago, when I was a refugee boy coming out of a civil war in Somalia, I fortunately came to Nairobi, Kenya and fell in love with its inhabitants. I have always been proud of my Kenyan brothers and sisters in welcoming us (Somalis) in their homeland, Kenya.

    Secondly, all Kenyan ethnics including ethnic Somalis know that whoever committed bombings in Kenya is trying ultimately to divide and put hatred among Kenyan ethnics. The likes of Al-shabab want to put a burning fire in the Kenyan mindset in order to manipulate the society and create ethnic divisions. Please do not let these perpetrators succeed in their mission. It is a trap!

    Thirdly, we need each other, therefore, we need to sort out our differences in a civilized manner.
    Thank you all.

     I have lived and worked with Somalis and I have to say that they are very good people. Attacking someone because of his/her ethnic background is crime against humanity. The attackers are mostly idle youths residing at Mathare Slums whose main agenda was going for 'free shopping' looting anything that they can get their hands on. You know who I blame for all this mess-(THE KENYAN LEADERS). If they were serious with dealing with issues of youth unemployment, these goons would have been engaged in other productive activities apart from stone throwing and attacking innocent Kenyans. This is a ticking time bomb which and with the said elections in the corner,.... more to follow

    As a Somali who had lived in Kenya, I consider it as a great nation and a brother in need. I had been 12 other countries but Kenyans were the best in many different ways. The two societies, Somalis and
    Kenyans should understand their common enemy and don’t let it succeed as someone said earlier. I am very disappointed and heartbroken to see the two attacking each other and I am urging them to STOP the nonsense violent

  • bmeheux
    This is my greatest contention with Africans, "irrational comprehension". We see this type of behavior all over the continent. If its not the South Africans killing other Africans, its the hutu's killing the tutsi's in Rwanda. Why does kiling become the first line of action when differences arise amongst Africans of different ethnicity? Why is it so impossible to have dialogue?. Too many innocent people suffer in the process especially young kids, who sometimes loose their parents, and are confronted with hardship for the rest of their lives. Why cant we learn to live together as one - Africans?

  • iSlam, always bloody borders and civil wars.

  • Somalis should start extracting their resources and relocate back home. Be the first pioneers in homeland infrastructures and institutions. Any nation that one invests, not only are they welcomed, respected, protected and admired. Here in Kenya, Somalis had really gotten a rotten deal. The sooner they realize the better. Besides, these Kenyans will eventually come to us as displaced people as their ever tumultuous election cycle approaches.

    §  It is a known fact that the conflict in Somalia lays the way the colonialist mis-shaped the Somali nation –parts of the lands of the Somalis are put, against their clearly stated will, under authorities created as a local colonialist on behave of the western colonialist powers.

    §  It is a known fact that those regional colonialist or artificial countries are Ethiopia and Kenya.
    §  It is a known fact that these colonialists have been beating (supported and encouraged by their western masters) the Somalis (before the artifial civil war has ever taken place).

    §  It is a known fact that al-shabaab like tribal warlords in Somalia are western-made, so as to
    de-stabilse in a “divide and rule” and in a “make them needy, so they’ll depend on you” method.

    §  It is a known fact but ignored one that the perpetrators of the so-called acts of terrorism are people who has been directly organized without their knowledge in the process named in this article “to weed out the chaff from the wheat”, a process that states the how low the Somalis have been placed, a process also is used to target the Islamic Religion.

    §  It is a fact that these artificial colonialist coutries, the more they subjugate the Somalis the more
    their master (Uncle Sam) praises them and the more he (Uncle Sam) turns the Somalis into his self-fulfilling prophecy that the Somalis are natural Islamic enemies against the western colonialist. A reflection of the materialization of his criminality and his deep insecurities, which i hope (in-shaa’a Allaah) will come true.

    §  It is a logical and natural fact that the abuse on the Somalis, however divided they are made or whatever dividing names are called, the only solution is to dismantle the artificial colonial countries, and then the Somalis either can be one nation-one country, or one nation-multicountries, but any any case they will remain Somalis and independent from any colonialism (be it, supercolonialism or its subcolonialism).

    §  This can only come true one Uncle Sam the terrorist, the colonialist falls down. The sooner the better for the Somalis and humanity as a whole.

  • Al Shabab is pro muslim. Radical muslims likes death and killing because they want to selfishly to go to "heaven" and have sex with 72 virgins. Kenyans should stop these muslims who seek to infiltrate, dominate and impose Shariah laws on people. Since most radical muslims don't wanna listen, - they have to be killed. Its the only "language" they understand because the radicals are not interested in solving issues in a "civilian" matter.

    What kind of a people strap bombs around their own children - to kill others..?
    It cannot be a people of love, respect, humility and civility.........its jihadis

  • kickingbird
    Diaspora Somalis instead of finding solutions for their country, some of them send money to armed gangs and Al-shabab. Second, they are not helping as often the wrong elements hide within their communities.

FREEZE AND DON JAZZY RECONCILE AFTER TWEET FIGHT.

They took their feud to Twitter earlier this month, after Don Jazzy called out Cool FM OAP Freeze, accusing him of hating. It didn't degenerate into a Twitter free-for-all, but both celebs let the world know how they felt about each other.

Freeze, who had interviewed D’banj weeks earlier, apparently took sides, hurling ‘stones’ at Jazzy and his crew. Many criticized the Ibadan-raised presenter  for ‘going too far’. And Jazzy, who rarely comments about unpalatable media mentions, couldn't hold back his anger.

All is now well though, as investigations reveal.

The pair are cordial again, having found time two weeks ago to discuss the misunderstanding.

We reliably gathered from those close to them that they had a honest conversation about the issue, chatting via blackberry Messenger and enhancing phone calls.

‘It’s something that could have become messy. But they both handled it well, after that initial Twitter outburst’, one insider tells us.

‘They had a very long chat, and it’s clear that all the bad blood is not needed, really’.

JESSICA TATA...HER PAN OF OIL AND 80YEARS

NIGERIAN-US WOMAN GETS 80 YEARS FOR DAY CARE FIRE

A Texas woman has been sentenced to 80 years in prison for the murder of one of four children killed in a fire at her home day care.

Jessica Tata, 24, was convicted last week in connection with the death of 16-month-old Elias Castillo.

Authorities say Elias was one of seven children whom Tata left unsupervised at her home while she went to a nearby Target store.

Prosecutors say she left a pan of oil atop a stovetop burner that ignited the February 2011 blaze.

Three other children were seriously injured.

"Nobody wins in this situation," Elias' great-grandmother, Patty Sparks, said after the sentence was announced.

"My heart goes out to the Tata family and those precious mothers and fathers who lost their babies."

Tata will have to serve 30 years of her sentence before she is eligible for parole and was ordered to pay a $US10,000 ($A9,674) fine.

Jurors deliberated her punishment for seven hours over two days.

She had no visible reaction after the sentence was announced.

Tata's lawyers contended she was a good person who loved children but made a terrible mistake.

Prosecutors argued she was an irresponsible day care owner who had doomed the children when she left them alone.

They said Tata had repeatedly left kids she was responsible for unsupervised and it was only a matter of time before her actions led to tragedy.

Defence lawyer Mike DeGeurin said he still believes Tata should not have been tried for murder because the deaths were an accident.

One of the surviving children, Makayla Dickerson, stood next to Baldassano as he spoke.

Makayla, whose three-year-old brother Shomari died in the fire, showed reporters scars the fire left on her right forearm.

Tata still faces three more counts of felony murder in relation to the other children who died, and three counts of abandoning a child and two counts of reckless injury to a child in relation to the three who were hurt. Baldassano said prosecutors planned to pursue trials on the remaining felony murder charges.
