Ben Affleck taking home the Oscar for Best Picture for "Argo" came as no surprise. In fact, the win marks pretty familiar territory for Affleck, who has come full circle back to being an Academy Awards darling after a handful of wrong (and some really wrong) turns in his life and career. Affleck was first on the Oscar stage 15 years ago, when he and Matt Damon won the Academy Award for Best Original Screenplay for "Good Will Hunting." Affleck was 25 at the time, already with a few decent film credits under his, and filled with a certain youthful exuberance.

GOLDIE'S CAUSE OF DEATH REVEALED???
According to sources from Reddington hospital, where Goldie died last night, the likely cause of her sudden death is pulmonary embolism. According to an article on the New York Times website, “Life-threatening blood clots and flying have been linked for more than 50 years, but a new study of business travelers confirms the risk, particularly for those who take long flights or fly frequently. “Immobility is considered a major factor behind the condition, called deep vein thrombosis. “But while it is often referred to as “economy-class syndrome” because of the cramped seating there, D.V.T. also occurs among those who fly in business class and first class, the researchers found. “People who fly four hours or more, the study found, have three times the risk of developing clots compared with periods when they did not travel.

“With a deep sense of loss, we announce the shocking death of our darling music star, Goldie Harvey. Goldie, 31, died on Thursday after she complained of a severe headache shortly after her arrival from the United States where she went to witness the Grammy Award. She was rushed from her Park View, Ikoyi, Lagos residence to her official hospital, Reddington, Victoria Island, Lagos, where doctors pronounced her dead on arrival at exactly 7:30pm in the evening.

Singer Goldie has passed on. Confirmed first from her best friend and my close friend, Denrele Edun. He said Goldie died at Reddington Hospital in Victoria Island. Goldie just came back from the US, and was so full of life, then something went tragically wrong. He was crying so much and had to switch off his phone. She had conversation with friends and fan here in Nigeria a few days ago while she was in the US. Then, the death news as soon as she stepped into the Country. May her soul rest in peace.

As settlers moved into west Texas soldiers were needed to protect them from attacks by Native Americans already living in the area. The Texas Plains Indians were defeated and their way of life ended following the Red River Wars, 1874-75. Units of black soldiers led by white officers gained recognition in both the Red River Wars and in raids on the Apaches in the Rio Grande Valley from 1876-1880. The Indians called them "Buffalo Soldiers" in honor of their bravery.
