Although Justin Bieber split from longtime girlfriend Selena Gomez earlier this month, he nonetheless had a very special date for the 2012 American Music Awards Sunday night: his mom.
Pattie Mallette, 37, proudly watched her son pick up the award for Favorite Male Artist - Pop/Rock. "I want to say this is for all the haters who thought maybe I was here for one or two years, but I feel like I'm going to be here for a very long time," Bieber, 18, told the crowd.
But according to fellow attendee Jenny McCarthy, Bieber had another companion at the AMAs after-party:
While there's no official word on whether Bieber and Gomez have rekindled their romance, E! News reports that the pair were seen leaving the Nokia Theater "hand-in-hand" after the show.
In the meantime, Bieber took to Twitter to muse that "things aren't always easy":
