'MY JIHAD' ADS CAMPAIGN IN CHICAGO
A new ad campaign debuted this week in Chicago that's sure to turn some heads. On Monday, 25 CTA buses began sporting ads from "My Jihad," a new educational campaign introduced by the Council on American-Islamic Relations' Chicago chapter (CAIR-Chicago).
Founded by Ahmed Rehab, CAIR-Chicago executive director, the campaign was conceived as a response to the anti-Islam ad campaign created by conservative blogger Pamela Geller, who ran a series of controversial "Defeat Jihad" ads on city buses last month. The goal of the campaign, Rehab explained, is "reclaiming Jihad from the Muslim and anti-Muslim extremists who ironically, but not surprisingly, see eye to eye on Jihad," according to a CAIR statement.
The literal meaning of Jihad, according to the BBC, is "struggle or effort" -- not simply a "holy war" waged on behalf of Islam. It is a central doctrine of the Islamic faith.
In addition to the public ads, the campaign urges supporters to use the #MyJihad hash tag to share insight into their own personal struggles or efforts. Muslims and non-Muslims alike have already contributed to the campaign."It is also about pushing for an intelligent and informed understanding of Islam and its concepts and practices in the media, the educational circles, and the public," Rehab continued. "Most of all, this campaign is about giving voice to our views, our practices, and simply put, our reality, a reality that is too big to be left out of the conversation.”
As Gellar did with her ads, Rehab hopes that the "MyJihad" ads will also appear in cities including New York, San Francisco, Houston, Seattle and Washington, D.C. in the future.

After a 10-man kidnap gang seized Professor Mabel Kamene Titi Okonjo, mother of the Minister of Finance, Dr. (Mrs.) Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, at Ogwashi-Ukwu, Delta State, the 82-year-old retired professor of sociology, University of Nigeria, UNN, Nsukka, was released. That was yesterday friday morning, by her kidnappers in Benin City, Edo State, after collecting between N10 to N15 million ransom. A young boy, suspected to have been used by the kidnappers as a “sacrificial lamb” to lead the old woman to safety after the ransom was delivered to them, was been arrested. The security agents said this is to help in their investigations on the identity of the hostage takers.

DON JAZZY SAID DBANJ IS WORLD CLASS...NOW I KNOW
DBanj has just dropped "On Top Of The World" single for Sony Music. Sometimes back when Dbanj and Don Jazzy started this whole stuff and music mega machine company, people felt this joke will stop, but it never did. I knew it will not when I listened to "tongolo" their first smash... you know it.
Then I was madly following them and their interviews. In one of them, Don Jazzy said and I quote "Dbanj is a world class musician. There are songs he has written back then in England, but I told him to drop them for now, for we can not use them here in Nigeria". After listening to this track "On Top Of The World", I accept that Don Jazzy was right and I submit completely to Don Jazzy that he is truly the music machine in Nigeria. If he can see this in Dbanj long, long, long time ago when nobody saw it, then he is really the Prophet of Music and Dbanj owe a thank you for seeing that in him, when no one did.
They are no longer together and both are greatly flying high in their respective fields but when next time Don Jazzy tells you an artiste is good, take him serious.

Music meant a lot to me, when Majekodumi Fasheke was the royal prince of Reggae Music in Nigeria. I am not in a position to have known the full details in his life that transformed this one time most handsome man in Nigeria to a ghost of himself, but I do remember as a growing up kid and reggae music lover, all my dream was to be as big as Majek Fashek and get to meet him on day. So I look as this picture everyday and ask myself "What must have gone wrong". What ever might have gone wrong, went wrong tooooooo deeply. He is still my legend, and no other reggae musician comes close in Nigeria.

George has served Aero for 24 years in various capacities,” Aero said. Chairman of the board, Mr. Funsho Kupolokun was quoted in the statement as saying: “The board accepts the resignation of Capt. George and appreciate the services he has rendered to this airline over the last two decades. We wish him the best in his future endeavour”. The airline said that Mr. Obaro Ibru, the Acting Managing Director, comes with extensive experience in banking and aviation industry ranging from Aviation Project Management, Consumer Banking Product Development, Strategy,ICC Internal Control and Compliance, and Business Process Engineering. The 51-year old Aero Contractors airline is one of the four major commercial airlines in Nigeria and the oldest. Two others, Dana Air and Air Nigeria are not in operation.

Iweala has officially announced the kidnap of her mother.
Mrs Kamene Okonjo, a professor of sociology who retired from the University of
Nigeria Nsukka (UNN), was abducted Sunday afternoon right inside her palace. She
is the wife of Obi of Ogwashi-Uku.
A statement released Sunday night by the Special Assistant to the Minister, Mr.
Paul Nwabuikwu, was titled “Abduction Of Prof Mrs Okonjo and” reads: “Earlier
today, Professor (Mrs) Kamene Okonjo, wife of Professor Chukuka Okonjo, the Obi
of Ogwashi-Uku and mother of the Coordinating Minister for the Economy and
Minister of Finance, Dr Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala was abducted from her home in
Ogwashi-Uku, Delta State.”
“At this point, it is difficult to say whether those behind this action are the
same people who have made threats against the Coordinating Minister in the
recent past or other elements with hostile motives.”

MONTERREY, Mexico — Mexico's music world mourned Jenni Rivera, the U.S.-born
singer presumed killed in a plane crash whose soulful voice and openness about
her personal troubles had made her a Mexican-American superstar. Authorities

It could not be immediately ascertained if security men were at the palace when she was kidnapped. Delta State police public relations officer, PPRO, Mr. Charles Muka; “Yes, we (police) have got the information on the kidnap and we have also got information that will lead to the arrest of the hoodlums”.
According to a dependable source, the woman who is a trained medical doctor and a professor was pushed into one of the Audi cars and driven to an unknown destination. The source, who pleaded anonymity, said security agents have been drafted to the palace for fear of the unknown. A senior police officer in the State who pleaded anonymity however said that massive manhunt has commenced to rescue the Queen of Ogwashi-Uku.!

In the early 80s, Alakija quit her job and went on to study Fashion design in England, returning to Nigeria shortly afterwards to start Supreme Stitches, a premium Nigerian fashion label, selling high-end Nigerian clothing to fashionable wives of military bigwigs and society women.
Oil Prospecting License
In May 1993 Alakija applied for an allocation of an Oil Prospecting License (OPL). The license to explore for oil on a 617,000 acre block – (now referred to as OPL 216) was granted to Alakija’s company, Famfa Limited. The block is located approximately 220 miles South East of Lagos and 70 miles offshore Nigeria in the central Niger Delta.
Alakija was intelligent! She had no expertise or experience in running an oil field, but she decided not to sell off her license. In September 1996, she entered into a joint venture agreement with Star Deep Water Petroleum Limited (a wholly-owned subsidiary of Texaco) and appointed the company as a technical adviser for the exploration of the license, transferring 40 percent of her 100 percent stake to Star Deep. Till date, Folorunsho Alakija and her family owned 60 percent.

BARCELONA, Spain-- Barcelona's
Lionel Messi has recovered from a knee injury and will attempt to surpass Gerd
Mueller's 40-year-old record for most goals in a calendar year when Barcelona
plays Real Betis.
Barcelona coach Tito Vilanova included Messi in his squad for the Spanish league match at Betis on Sunday, saying the forward will play barring a setback.
"(Messi) feels fine, he isn't bothered (by the knee)," Vilanova said Saturday. "If he is traveling, it's because he's in condition to play. It there existed even the smallest risk, he wouldn't travel with the team."
Vilanova said he didn't know yet if he would start Messi or bring him off the bench. Messi was carried off the field after a late collision with the opposing goalkeeper in Barcelona's 0-0 draw against Benfica in the Champions League on Wednesday. He hasn't missed a game because of injury since September 2010.
The 25-year-old Messi is trying to match Mueller's record of 85 goals for Bayern Munich and West Germany in 1972. Messi has 84 goals this year for Barcelona and Argentina. Forward Alexis Sanchez and defender Dani Alves also have recovered from injuries and made the squad. Barcelona leads the league after a record start of 13 wins and one draw in the opening 14 rounds.
