of guest artist with the release of his highly anticipated second album #TheSonOfaKapenta.In 2010, when Nigerian rapper Ice Prince was looking for a suitable hook for his now-famed ‘Oleku’ hit song, the name Brymo readily came to mind. Brymo had made a name for himself as a good singer, so it wasn’t hard for Ice Prince to settle on him. Together, they created what to date, is Ice Prince’s biggest hit song. Brymo’s credibility grew, and across the Nigerian music scene, he was being regarded as the master of hooks and a star for the future.
And that to
his unflappable style of singing and a rather flawless handling of some of the
complex music genres, and you will get a certain Brymo, who guarantees a global
hit. In what started as an experiment some years back, dropping his debut album
Brymestone in 2007 to critical acclaim, Brymo has grown to become that artiste
you would want to feature in a song which needs attention.

According to his label’s website he “grew up in a community where opportunities were hard, but despite all the hardship, his parents ensured that he got an average education, and a good upbringing”.

#TheSonofaKapenta has subtle traces of fuji, a genre Brymo is well versed in,
alongside contemporary afro beats. The album was produced by resident Chocolate
City producer Jesse Jagz, who also featured on the album along with E Kelly and
other talented Nigerian producers. It also features appearances from Pryse, Ice
Prince, and M.I. The album will be Brymo’s first since joining Chocolate City in
2010.
